Notes: The nitrogen-infused can (nitro can) pours a medium brown cascade that leads to a ½ inch creamy, light brown head atop a deep black/brown ale. The head leaves behind a heavy and lasting lace on the pint glass. The nose is a creamy, nutty, and bready smell with a slight hop tang. This beer has a slick mouthfeel (like melted ice cream). A taste produces flavors of roasted malt, coffee, toffee, black walnuts, unsweet chocolate, and a continuous under-note of light hop bitterness. Overall milder than a Guinness Stout and not as sharp on the finish.
Do yourself a favor and don’t be a wanker; pass on the green beer and have a traditional Irish Stout – Happy St. Pat’s Day!
